quirky hand-built timber sauna located in a green hilly landscape in mid Wales

After a day in the hills, relax and re-energise in our hand-built sauna

Our unique outdoor sauna is set in the field below our cabins, with expansive views over the dyfi valley and mountains beyond.

The spacious yet cosy sauna space is heated by a wood-fired HUUM stove loaded with stones for deep, natural heat. When you’ve had enough heat, step out to the deck for the sunken cold plunge pool which is fed by fresh water from the cool mountain stream nearby. Alternatively, there is also an outdoor shower for a refreshing contrast before another blast of heat.

Sessions are calm and private — bring friends or book alone. The sauna can be booked for 2-hour time slots, for staying cabin guests or locals alike, suitable for up to around 5 people. Great after a long hike, bike ride or when you just need to switch off.

Please bring swimwear and a towel and arrive a little early to relax and enjoy the view. There’s also a separate changing room for privacy within the sauna.

  • The sauna is open guest staying in the Caban site, and locals who know of it. Please book in advance using the online booking system on this page – currently £25 for a 2hr session.
