Caban Copa

Caban Copa, with its high curved roof making a small tin peak on the hillside, is aptly named after the Welsh for summit. Grab a trail map and stride out into the valley, returning after a day in the woods (or the pub) to a colourful and cosy cabin

From £90 PN

Minimum 2 nights

Caban Copa looks down the valley, over terrain crisscrossed with hiking routes and custom-made mountain biking trails that can keep you happily exhausted for days.

Coming home to Caban Copa doesn’t end your day outside so much as frame it. The domed ceiling, glass doors and porthole windows fill the space with light and make the countryside a backdrop to a restful afternoon or evening. If you want to relax indoors, there’s a sofa across from the wood-burner, hobs to cook on and the en-suite flushing loo is hidden in a room behind the kitchen, so you don’t need to leave the cabin for anything. Later, lounge on the deck and light up the firebowl, or turn out all the lights and watch the stars fill the unspoilt sky.

We stayed for 3 nights with our 7 and 2 year old. Absolutely incredible. So tranquil, cosy, relaxing and just the break we needed. Kids loved exploring in the stream, there was a rope swing which they loved. Lighting the fire outside and just relaxing was lovely.

Real gem of a find. Wonderful cabin set in a glorious setting. Everything is carefully thought out with everything you need to get away from your normal day-to-day routine. Lovely little details in the design of the cabin and clever use of items from previous decades. Love the upholstery and curtains too! The log burning stove is cosy to settle down to at the end of the day. Found it so easy to unwind and relax.Caban Copa has a perfectly placed round window to capture the setting sun and then later frame the moon and stars. Beautiful! There’s even a babbling brook to lull you to sleep setting you up for a perfect stay. Thank you for a wonderful time. Already planning out next getaway!

We had a fantastic stay. The hut was easy to find because the owners had given easy to follow instructions and we knew what facilities to expect that allowed us to plan for cooking during our stay. The hut was beautiful and cosy and we had amazing views over Cader Idris from our deck, which made for excellent breakfast and dinner entertainment! From the location of the site, we could easily get to Machynlleth, Corris and Barmouth, where we enjoyed great days out and we enjoyed being very cosy in the evenings. We wish we had booked a longer stay!
