Caban Cadno

The latest addition to our cabins is perfectly designed for the mud-seekers, the adventurers and the off-roaders. Return from trails right to the door, where you can ditch the gear under the awning or the deck, stick the kettle on and slump onto the wide sofa to take in the wild view through the sliding doors.

From £80 PN

There’s no worry if the weather’s turned either, because the shower and compost loo are built into a separate room next to the kitchen area, so you don’t need to go back out if you’re done with the wilderness for the day. When all the exploring starts to catch up with you, bed is just a short climb away up a ladder to the attic bedroom. You’ll wake again to enjoy views of the valley tucked up under the duvet.

Bike trails and hiking routes cover the farm, the Dyfi Forest and most of the surrounding area, making it one of the best in the UK for mountain biking. You can take on the Howies Dyfi Enduro Route and there’s also a wealth of watersports to be tackled in the form of kayaking, windsurfing and kite-surfing on the nearby coast. If you’re after a more relaxed day out, you can head 5 miles to the pubs, cafes and restaurants of Machynlleth, which has a lively social scene and is home to the Wales Museum of Modern Art as well as numerous craft shops and galleries.

We had an amazing stay. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The location is peaceful and private but also close enough to things to do as well. The interior is cosy and stylish and very functional. The bed was very comfy, and the hot shower was lovely.

Really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was clean, warm and quirky. The location was excellent for access to walks in the Snowdonia park and the scenery was breathtaking. The local village of Machynlleth offered a fantastic restaurant called Bistro Number 21, a good fish and chip shop and co-op store.

We had a great time at the cabin despite the snow. The cabin was warm & cosy and the owner was there to meet us with the fire on.
